Pittsburgh Green Workplace Challenge Sign-Up Page

About the GWC

The Pittsburgh Green Workplace Challenge (GWC) is a friendly competition for businesses, nonprofits, universities, K-12 schools, and municipalities in southwestern Pennsylvania to track and measure improvements in energy, water, waste, transportation and other sustainability activities. Participation gives employers access to tools, information, and guidance to help reduce costs, improve performance, and increase long-term sustainability.

The GWC involves using a Playbook that lists green and sustainable actions participants can take to earn points, verification, and recognition. Each sector competes within its own category; there is no cost to sign up.

Every action adds up to big impact.  Since the first competition in 2011, more than 200 competitors saved nearly $9 million in energy.  Be part of the growing cohort of employers that are driving Pittsburgh’s reputation for environmental transformation and sustainability. Find out more about the competition and see what's new for the 2016-2017 competition.

Observer Sign-up

If you missed the sign-up deadline for the year-long GWC, you can still participate as an "Observer" in the program. As an Observer, your organization can still submit actions and earn points. Your organization can also achieve ribbons in each of the seven action categories. However, you will not be entered to compete against other organizations. To sign up as an Observer, simply complete the form below. We will take care of the rest.

NOTE: K-12 Schools may still sign up to participate as full competitors in the K-12 category. See below for more information.
